Shadow War is devoted to our GURPS: Monster Hunters campaign setting that has, at its heart, the Dresden Files universe. It is also a spiritual successor to my previous foray into Jim Butcher’s world using GURPS with a different group; some characters, ideas and themes from Red Sky will no doubt migrate their way into this campaign as well. For the purposes of our game, the exact “Now” is intentionally left unclear, even if we are beginning play in 2022. As of game time, events from books 1 through 10 of the Dresden Files have transpired, although they might not have happened exactly as Harry wrote them down…
NOTE: I am intensely thankful for HumAnnoyd’s utterly fantastic Emerald City campaign from which I cribbed quite heavily in terms of inspiration. If you’re not in awe of his stuff, you’re doing it wrong.
